NSBI’s position on the invitation for the “Industry Strategic Discussion 2026”

NSBI refuses partnership in “Industry Strategic Discussion 2026” in the absence of equal organizational participation.
The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NSBI) received an invitation to be included as a partner in the format “Industry Strategic Discussion 2026”, planned for Plovdiv (March 12) and Sofia (March 14), organized jointly by the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NSRI) and ASK Urban Academy.

NSBI in principle supports the conduct of an open professional dialogue to improve the quality of services, establish ethical and professional standards and protect consumers. Such topics require the participation of all representative organizations and a common vision developed in a transparent and equal manner.

Essence of the position
In this specific case, NSBI cannot accept participation as a partner, since the format and initiative are organized and positioned by other structures, including in connection with legislative proposals that were not developed jointly with NSBI and on which no institutional agreement has been reached.

According to the information we have, NSBI was not invited to previous meetings on the topic held in Varna and Burgas.

Why equality is important
When discussing rules, standards and possible legislative initiatives that affect the entire industry, the “invitation to partnership” approach after an already structured concept and publicly positioned format does not guarantee a real joint development of common goals and positions. This creates a risk that decisions will appear predetermined, instead of being the result of an equal process and broad consensus.

NSBI’s position towards the organizers
In response to the organizers, NSBI states that it remains open to dialogue and participation in a clearly defined, equal format in which all professional organizations participate from the very beginning – at the concept stage, goal formulation and development of a common position.

Mr. Dobromir Ganev
Dear colleagues,
We thank you for the invitation to participate in the “Industry Strategic Discussion 2026”.
The National Association of Real Estate Brokers has always advocated the need for
professional dialogue, clear standards and regulation that serve the interests of
society and the brokerage profession.
In this particular case, however, we believe that the format and the initiative are organized and
positioned by other structures, including in connection with legislative
proposals that were not developed jointly with the NSBI and on which we have not reached
institutional agreement. Including, we were not invited to the events in Varna and
Burgas.
Therefore, the NSBI cannot participate as a partner in an event in which it does not
have organizational participation and jointly formulated goals, especially when it comes to
legislative initiatives affecting the entire industry.
We remain open to dialogue in a clearly defined equal format, in which all professional organizations participate from the concept stage and development of a common position.

Sincerely,
Plamen Matev
Chairman of the NSBI
